Throughout this last year I have seen these cloths all over the social media platform. As amazing as they looked, they looked too good to be true. So naturally I thought it would be and didn’t think to even try it. However, this May whilst abroad in Sephora I saw it and decided to pick it up to see for myself. This is a micro fibre polyester cloth that claims to remove makeup with just water, without any makeup removers or chemicals. So I gave it a go and this is what I think. This was a request from some snapchat family as they always see me use it when I have heavy makeup on.
Product Details
Remove smear-proof, waterproof makeup and mascara with The Original MakeUp Eraser®. Free of chemicals, this makeup remover gets rid of all types of makeup, including stage, sports, and theatrical makeup. Each cloth will last a thousand washes, and you only need to add warm water and then remove makeup. This ultra-soft, woven polyester-blend cloth gets rid of tough makeup without leaving behind a residue—just a fresh, healthy feeling.
How to use – Soak the cloth in water and ring it out and it’s ready to use. Use the cloth and rub it over your makeup on your face in strokes or in circular motions. It has two sides, one side has longer fibres on it and the other side has shorter fibres, I use the cloth on either side as I have not seen much difference between the two. I suggest you try both and decide what works for you. You can see in the picture below I have folded the cloth over you can see both the shorter fibre side and the longer fibre side. Yes, I do have two because I loved it so much I went back and bought another one just in case I lost mine whilst on my travels.
Result – Within minutes this cloth had removed ALL of my makeup. It was a huge surprise to me that a full face of makeup can be dissolved and cleaned within minutes even my stubborn waterproof mascaras and liquid lipsticks. If you are a matte waterpoof liquid stick wearer you will know what I mean. This product is literally wet, erase and go! I even used a face wipe to test whether any makeup had been left behind. (There wasn’t any)
Benefits
- Cost effective.
- No chemicals, only water.
- Quick and easy to use.
- Takes off stubborn makeup (waterproof).
Usage – You can use it as many times as you want, however, I only use it once or twice in the same week or when I have a full face of makeup.
Cost effective– Yes, depending on where you purchase it from. The cheapest you will find it is either at IMATS or Sephora.
Verdict – Recommended, but not for daily use.
Cons
- The washing process after use (if your lazy like me you’ll use each end of the cloth to maximise usage and save you washing often).
- Hard to get hold of to purchase in some countries.
- Not for daily use (may be harsh for daily use).
- It’s pink? (That’s if you don’t like bright pink). Although it is available in black and blue they are limited. Most stores and online shops only store pink.
